I'm actually growing to like this idea. It reminds me of how in the Post-Crisis comics Lex Luthor went from being a mad scientist to a corrupt corporate executive in the vein of real life supervillains like Donald Trump or Rupert Murdoch.

This is another fresh new take for a new audience. Playing off of Eisneberg's most famous character as an ambitious and intelligent adversary plants a seed in our mind of just how much Superman is going to be put to the test in a way were he can't just use his strength to solve the issue.

But of course, if the movie and his acting sucks, you can expect that I'll back pedal on this statement so hard that the world will spin in reverse.

No no no. This one I put my foot down about. Not when there is a Brain Cranston just begging to be Luthor. But maybe Cranston is too flavor of the month. But Jessie?? Please. And yes I remember I said the same thing about Heath Ledger and the Joker but this is different.
