Now This Is How You Design A Space Program

Ah, this was the building blocks of my youth.... Wasn't it grand..?

I've been around LEM mockups at Canaveral, Johnson Space Center, and at the Smithsonian in DC. There has never and will never be an actual spacecraft that will endear my memories and spark my imagination more.

Truely symbolising it's designation much like the service module, the LEM was never designed for earth atmosphere; it was indeed a 'spacecraft'.

It is beautiful to see. Now the Soviet space program, there was a pile of junk.
